Tour Plan

Experience Kenya’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife on a 7-day safari. Pick up from Nairobi and drive to Aberdare National Park, known for misty forests and waterfalls.

Itineraries Of The Day

After being collected from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, depart by road for the famous Aberdare National Park, a unique highland wilderness often described as “Scotland with Lions.”

This charismatic Afro-Alpine realm reveals a landscape of cool forests, moorlands, and dramatic ravines, where elephants wander through lichen-draped trees and waterfalls plunge into mist-shrouded pools.

Arrive in time for lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, a historic property offering panoramic views of Mount Kenya. Later in the afternoon, transfer to The Ark, an iconic lodge built in the shape of a ship and overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt lick — a magnet for elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that gather after dark.

Dinner and overnight at The Ark, Aberdare National Park.

After breakfast, return to The Aberdare Country Club, where you’ll reconnect with your driver-guide and continue your journey northward to Shaba National Reserve — a land immortalized by Joy and George Adamson, who raised the famous lioness Elsa here in the wild. This starkly beautiful region of northern Kenya is characterized by rugged hills, volcanic outcrops, and the shimmering Ewaso Nyiro River.

Arrive in time for lunch at the luxurious Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, set along the river’s banks amid doum palms and tropical gardens. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive to discover Shaba’s unique wildlife, including the reticulated giraffe, rare Beisa oryx, long-necked gerenuk, and the striking Grevy’s zebra, found only in northern Kenya.

As dusk settles, return to your lodge for an elegant dinner beside the river.

Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

Enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives in the Shaba National Reserve, where photographic opportunities abound at every turn. This dramatic landscape — a blend of riverine forest, arid plains, and rocky hills — is home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and an array of plains game. Keep your camera ready as the Ewaso Nyiro River attracts a dazzling variety of birdlife, from vibrant bee-eaters to majestic raptors.

Between game drives, take time to relax at the lodge’s Tulia Mini Spa, a serene sanctuary surrounded by nature. Indulge in a soothing massage to the sound of trickling streams and birdsong, or for a truly unforgettable experience, choose to have your massage in the wild, embraced by the sights and sounds of the African bush.

All meals and overnight at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

After breakfast, depart Shaba and drive south to Lake Nakuru National Park, the most celebrated of the Great Rift Valley lakes. The journey unfolds through changing highland landscapes before descending into the vast Rift escarpment.

Arrive in time for lunch at the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, beautifully set on a hillside overlooking the lake and park. Nestled within tranquil gardens, the lodge is a natural haven for wildlife and attracts over 50 species of birds within its grounds alone — part of the park’s more than 400 recorded species, including pelicans, flamingos, and kingfishers.

In the afternoon, head out on safari in Kenya’s first and largest rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhinos. The park also echoes with the haunting cries of fish eagles, while offering one of the country’s best chances to spot a leopard resting in the acacia trees.

Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, Lake Nakuru National Park.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru National Park and drive across the Great Rift Valley toward the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, often described as the stage for “the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth” — the annual migration of more than a million wildebeest and zebra.

Arrive in time for lunch at the Sarova Mara Game Camp, an elegant tented retreat that blends authentic safari ambience with contemporary comfort.

In the afternoon, set out for a thrilling game drive across the Mara’s endless golden plains — a photographer’s paradise alive with drama and color. Watch for superb black-maned lions, herds of elephants and buffalo, swift cheetahs, elusive leopards, and an abundance of plains game including zebra, giraffe, rhino, and hippo along the riverbanks.

Return to camp as the sun sets over the savannah and enjoy a relaxing evening beneath a canopy of stars.

Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve.

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives across the Masai Mara National Reserve, Africa’s richest wildlife viewing arena. The Mara’s rolling grasslands and acacia-dotted plains are teeming with wildlife year-round, home to Kenya’s largest lion prides, vast elephant herds, and an abundance of predators and plains game.

Between game drives, unwind at Sarova Mara Game Camp — take a dip in the pool, relax on your private veranda, or indulge in a spa treatment inspired by the African wilderness.

For an even deeper connection with the region, you may choose to:

Rise early for a hot-air balloon safari, gliding silently over the Mara’s plains at sunrise.
Visit a traditional Maasai village to experience the vibrant culture, music, and traditions of this proud community.
In the evening, return to camp for dinner and enjoy the nightly Maasai dance performances, a spirited celebration of heritage beneath the starlit sky.

All meals and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Masai Mara and begin your scenic drive back down the Great Rift Valley to Nairobi, enjoying the changing landscapes and the vibrant rhythm of rural Kenya along the way.

Alternatively, you may opt for a scheduled flight from the Masai Mara to Nairobi (available at an additional cost) — a swift and scenic journey that offers stunning aerial views of the plains below.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be transferred either to your city hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward international flight.
