After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ivato Airport for your domestic flight to Fort-Dauphin. At the airport, you’ll check in for your flight and prepare for an exciting adventure in southern Madagascar.
Upon arrival at Fort-Dauphin Airport, your guide will meet you and escort you on a scenic drive to Berenty. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to stop, take photos, and explore the spiny forest in depth, marveling at its unique and striking landscape.
In the evening, your guide will take you on a night walk through the Berenty Spiny Forest Reserve. This is a special opportunity to observe nocturnal species that are active only after dark, adding an element of mystery and excitement to your adventure.
After a day of exploration, enjoy dinner at Berenty Lodge, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences. Then, relax and enjoy an overnight stay at the lodge, surrounded by the natural beauty of the forest reserve.
Today, you will explore Berenty Reserve, located along the Mandrake River amidst vast sisal plantations. The reserve features the Rapily spiny forest, the 200-hectare Berenty Reserve, and the 100-hectare Bealoka forest. Known for its diverse lemur population, the reserve is home to six species, including the famous ringtail lemurs, brown lemurs, and Verreaux’s sifakas, all active during the day. The reserve is also a haven for birdwatchers, with 103 bird species, such as owls and couas, adding to the richness of the wildlife.
After a full day of exploration, enjoy a delicious dinner at Berenty Lodge and relax in the tranquil surroundings. Spend the night at the lodge, surrounded by the natural beauty of the reserve.
After a relaxing breakfast, you’ll depart from Berenty and head back to Fort-Dauphin. Along the way, take in the stunning landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to stop and capture the beauty of Madagascar.
Upon arrival in Fort-Dauphin, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Once you check in, you’ll board your flight with Madagascar Airlines/Tsaradia and fly back to the capital.
On arrival at Ivato Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for a restful evening.
