Colourful Rajasthan is a captivating 16-day journey through India’s most royal and vibrant state, blending history, culture, and authentic experiences. The tour begins in Delhi, exploring colonial landmarks and Mughal marvels like Qutub Minar and Jama Masjid. It then moves into the Shekhawati region’s frescoed havelis in Mandawa and the desert grandeur of Bikaner. In Jaisalmer, travelers experience golden forts, intricately carved mansions, and camel rides over desert dunes. Jodhpur charms with its blue-washed houses and the imposing Mehrangarh Fort, while Udaipur enchants with lakeside palaces and scenic boat rides. A countryside stay in Deogarh offers a taste of rural life before arriving in Jaipur, where grand forts, palaces, and colorful markets await. A stop at the deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri leads to Agra, home to the iconic Taj Mahal and warm cultural interactions. The journey ends in Delhi, enriched with yoga, art, and culinary sessions, offering a complete immersion into Rajasthan’s royal spirit and timeless charm.

Itineraries Of The Day

Upon arrival in India’s capital, Delhi, you are warmly welcomed by a Liberty India representative and transferred to your hotel. The day is at leisure for rest, allowing you to settle in and prepare for the exciting journey through Rajasthan that lies ahead.

After breakfast, proceed for a guided city tour of Delhi. Begin with a visit to Qutub Minar, the 12th-century Tower of Victory. Continue your exploration of New Delhi, driving past the iconic landmarks of British India, including the grand President’s House, North and South Blocks, and the Parliament House.

In the afternoon, head to Old Delhi for a delightful lunch at Haveli Dharampura. Drive past the majestic Red Fort and stop at Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, built by Shah Jahan. Experience a traditional cycle rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of the Old City, where time seems to have stood still for centuries. Explore India’s largest spice market.

After breakfast, drive into the heart of the Shekhawati region, arriving in the historic town of Mandawa. Check-in at a beautifully restored heritage castle, adorned with murals and carvings depicting mythological tales. Later, explore the famed frescoes of Navalgarh and Jhunjhunu, capturing the artistic grandeur of Rajasthan’s merchant families.

After breakfast, head deeper into the desert lands of Rajasthan, reaching the fortified city of Bikaner. After check-in, visit the grand Junagadh Fort, a stunning blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture housing temples, palaces, and pavilions. The fort’s intricate carvings and collection of royal memorabilia provide a glimpse into the city’s princely past.

After breakfast, head westward to Jaisalmer, the Golden City rising from the heart of the Thar Desert. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Take in the golden sandstone cityscape or unwind in preparation for an eventful day ahead.

After breakfast, get ready to discover the enchanting charm of Jaisalmer. Visit the grand Jaisalmer Fort, still inhabited and bustling with life. Marvel at the ornate mansions of Patwon Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli, known for their intricate carvings. Relax by Gadisar Lake and explore Bada Bagh’s royal cenotaphs. End the day with a magical camel ride over the Sam Sand Dunes as the sun sets over the desert.

After breakfast, depart for Jodhpur, Rajasthan’s Blue City. On arrival, set out for a short exploration of the city’s distinct blue-hued architecture and lively streets. The evening is free for leisure, offering time to soak in the Marwari charm or browse through traditional textiles and handicrafts.

After breakfast, tour begins with a visit to the formidable Mehrangarh Fort, perched on a rocky hill with panoramic views. Continue to Jaswant Thada, a white marble memorial with delicate carvings, and end your city tour at the Clock Tower Market, a bustling hub of spices, antiques, and local life.

Post breakfast, depart for Udaipur by surface enroute visiting the Ranakpur Jain temples. Though over 500 years old, the temples here are superbly preserved in near-perfect condition. In the center is the main “Chaumukha temple” dedicated to Adinath. The most distinctive features are the 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars, of which no two are exactly alike.

Continue your drive to Udaipur and check in to the hotel.

Morning after breakfast, visit the City Palace – a conglomeration of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. Also, visit the Crystal Gallery -whose collection includes a bewildering number of Crystal objects d’art, dinner sets, perfume bottles, decanters, glasses, washing bowls and even furniture.

Later, visit Jagdish Temple and Saheliyon-ki-Bari, the ‘Garden of the Maids of Honour’, with its rich foliage and intricately designed fountains.

Late afternoon, enjoy Shared Boat Ride on Lake Pichola in which the majestic Lake Palace Hotel is situated. See the ghats along the lake and the interesting buildings along the banks. The view of the city palace from the lake is spectacular.

After breakfast, travel to the lesser-known town of Deogarh, upon arrival check into a charming heritage property. Later, take a leisurely walk through the village, engaging with local life and getting a taste of rural Rajasthan’s warmth and authenticity.

After breakfast, start journey to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and famously known as the Pink City. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. You may choose to explore the vibrant bazaars or relax and soak in the city’s majestic atmosphere.

After breakfast, proceed on a guided excursion to Amber Fort – originally the ancient capital of the Kachawahas clan from 1037 the ancient town of Amber, 12km from Jaipur, is dotted with ancient temples, Havelis, and step wells. High above the town and surrounded with defensive fortification walls sits the impressive Amber Palace. Built by Raja Man Singh in the early 17th century it houses mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions, and gardens.

 

Later, visit Panna Meena Step Well – The eight storeys Step well was built in 16th century as a sort of community gathering area.  A place where people could come for water, a swim, a chat with a neighbor or relax. The criss-cross of stairs, the octagonal gazebos, and the recessed doorways–this baoli is fun to walk around and photograph. According to the residents of the place, it is impossible for a person to use the same stairs to get down and go upstairs. It is a big mystery about the place and all the tourists visiting here try to do this.

In the afternoon, return to the town to do a tour of the city. Visit the City Palace – the former royal residence and the Jantar Mantar – a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century. Photo stop – at the Hawa Mahal, known popularly as the Palace of Winds.

Take the opportunity also to wander through the traditional markets.

After breakfast, depart for Agra by surface enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri – an exquisite city built by Akbar the Great in 1569, in red sandstone, with its forts, palaces and mosques, and abandoned after its creation due to political reasons.

Continue to Agra and check-in at the hotel and relax at your hotel in preparation for the highlight of the trip.

Visit the breathtaking Taj Mahal at sunrise, a monument to love and a pinnacle of Mughal architecture. After breakfast, continue to the Itmad-ud-Daulah tomb, often referred to as the “Baby Taj” for its intricate inlay work. In the evening, enjoy an interactive cooking session and dinner with a local family, offering insight into traditional Agra hospitality.

After breakfast, drive back to Delhi and transfer to the international airport for your onward flight. As the tour concludes, you take with you unforgettable memories of majestic forts, desert sunsets, colorful culture, and warm hospitality—hallmarks of the truly Colourful Rajasthan experience.
