Day 2 – Bogotá City Tour & Monserrate
Morning: After breakfast, begin a panoramic tour of Bogotá’s historic center, La Candelaria, a charming colonial district of cobblestone streets, colorful façades, and centuries-old churches. The first highlight is a visit to the world-renowned Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), which houses nearly 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold artifacts — one of the largest collections of its kind in the world. Each piece tells the story of Colombia’s indigenous cultures and their spiritual connection to gold.
Afternoon: Continue the tour with an ascent to Monserrate, Bogotá’s most iconic landmark. Reached by cable car or funicular railway, this mountaintop sanctuary rises 3,152 meters above sea level, offering sweeping panoramic views of the city and surrounding Andean peaks. Beyond its stunning scenery, Monserrate holds deep religious importance as a pilgrimage site since 1640, with a beautiful basilica dedicated to “El Señor Caído” (The Fallen Lord).
Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Evening free at leisure to enjoy Bogotá’s vibrant restaurants and nightlife.

See the Liévano Palace, an elegant French-style building that serves as Bogotá’s City Hall, and the Palace of Justice, symbol of Colombia’s judicial branch.
