Itineraries Of The Day

Upon arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax after your journey and begin to absorb the charm of Chengdu, the gateway to Southwest China.

Depending on your arrival time, you may stroll through the lively streets, try Sichuan’s famous spicy cuisine, or enjoy a traditional tea house experience in one of the city’s historic districts.

Overnight stay in Chengdu.

After breakfast, depart from Chengdu on a 2-hour drive to the city of Leshan, home to the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Carved directly into the red sandstone cliffs during the Tang Dynasty, this colossal seated figure stands 71 meters tall, making it the largest stone Buddha in the world.

Upon arrival, explore the scenic area by foot and, if desired, take a short boat ride on the Min River for panoramic views of the Buddha and surrounding cliffs. Discover the legends, history, and spiritual significance of this remarkable monument, which has watched over the confluence of three rivers for more than 1,200 years.

In the afternoon, return to Chengdu. Evening at leisure to enjoy the city’s vibrant food scene — perhaps tasting the world-renowned Sichuan hotpot or exploring the atmospheric Jinli Ancient Street.

Morning: After breakfast, visit the world-renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, one of China’s most important conservation centers. Here you can observe giant pandas and red pandas in their naturalistic enclosures, learn about breeding and conservation programs, and enjoy seeing the playful cubs during their most active feeding time. A visit to this sanctuary is one of the highlights of Chengdu and an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Afternoon: Transfer to the railway station and board a high-speed train from Chengdu to Guiyang (approx. 4–5 hours). Upon arrival in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure to rest or explore the lively night markets, known for their spicy Guizhou cuisine.

Morning: Begin the day with a visit to Qianling Mountain Park, a green oasis within Guiyang city. Stroll along peaceful forested paths, enjoy panoramic views of the city, and visit the historic Hongfu Buddhist Temple, nestled on the mountainside. The park is also home to playful macaque monkeys and serene lakes, making it a favorite spot for both locals and travelers.

Afternoon: Continue to Qingyan Ancient Town, one of Guizhou’s four most famous old towns, founded in the Ming Dynasty (1378). Explore its stone-paved streets, preserved city gates, ancient temples, and traditional wooden architecture, all reflecting centuries of cultural heritage. Discover local crafts, taste authentic snacks, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this charming historic town.

Return to Guiyang in the evening.

After breakfast, depart Guiyang for a full-day excursion to Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park (approx. 2.5 hours by road). This UNESCO-listed site is home to the Huangguoshu Waterfall, the largest in China and one of the biggest in Asia, standing 77 meters high and 101 meters wide.

Walk along scenic trails to admire the falls from different viewpoints, including the famous “Water-Curtain Cave,” where you can pass behind the thundering cascade for a unique perspective. The park also features a series of smaller waterfalls, limestone formations, and lush subtropical landscapes, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.

In the late afternoon, return to Guiyang. Evening at leisure.

Morning: Return to Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park for additional exploration or alternate viewpoints before heading onward to the spectacular Dragon Palace Cave (Longgong Caves). Known as the world’s largest water-filled karst cave system, this underground wonder features dramatic limestone formations, hidden waterfalls, and crystal-clear rivers. A short boat ride inside the cave allows you to experience its mystical chambers illuminated by soft lights.

Afternoon: Continue to Yunfeng Garrison Town, an ancient military settlement dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Stroll through its preserved city walls, stone-paved alleys, and traditional courtyards that reflect Guizhou’s historic importance as a frontier defense post.

Evening: Return to Guiyang for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart Guiyang and travel south to Libo County, home to the world-class Xiaoqikong Scenic Area (Xiaoqikong National Park), a UNESCO-recognized World Natural Heritage Site within the South China Karst region.

The park, often referred to as the “Little Seven Arches”, is renowned for its lush subtropical forests, turquoise rivers, limestone gorges, and karst caves. Highlights include the elegant Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge, cascading 68-tiered waterfalls, crystal-clear Yuanyang Lake, and unique limestone formations surrounded by pristine greenery.

This area is considered one of the most beautiful parts of Guizhou Province, showcasing biodiversity and dramatic karst landscapes that rival Guilin’s famed scenery.

Overnight stay in Libo or Guiyang.

Morning: After breakfast, journey to Yaoshan Yao Village, home to the Yao ethnic minority. Nestled in the mountains of Guizhou, this community preserves centuries-old traditions, distinctive wooden stilt houses, colorful embroidery, and unique customs such as long drum dancing and ceremonial singing. Visitors gain an authentic glimpse into Yao culture, still vibrant in daily village life.

Afternoon: Continue to Shiqiao Miao Village, renowned for its 2,000-year-old tradition of papermaking using natural bark and fibers. Here, you’ll see demonstrations of the ancient handmade paper process, a skill passed down through generations. The Miao people are also known for their silver jewelry, lively festivals, and intricate batik work, offering a rich cultural experience.

Evening: Return to Guiyang for an overnight stay.

Morning: Depart Guiyang and travel en route to Langde Miao Village, often called the “Museum of Miao Culture.” This traditional settlement, surrounded by terraced fields and rivers, is home to the Miao ethnic minority, known for their vibrant festivals, silver ornaments, and folk dances. Stroll along wooden stilt houses, meet local villagers, and experience the authenticity of one of Guizhou’s most picturesque ethnic communities.

Afternoon: Upon arrival back in Guiyang, visit the iconic Jiaxiu Pavilion, a landmark built during the Ming Dynasty on the Nanming River. With its elegant architecture and cultural significance, the pavilion has become a symbol of Guiyang. Afterwards, immerse yourself in local life at Qingyun Market, a bustling spot where traditional foods, handicrafts, and daily activities showcase the city’s unique character.

Evening: Return to your hotel in Guiyang for overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to Guiyang Railway Station and board a high-speed train to Hong Kong (approx. 6–7 hours). This modern rail journey offers a comfortable and scenic ride across southern China, connecting the heart of Guizhou Province with the dynamic, world-class metropolis of Hong Kong.

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Depending on your arrival time, you may stroll along the Victoria Harbour waterfront, explore Temple Street Night Market, or simply relax and prepare for the next stage of your journey.

Morning: Begin the day with a visit to the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple, a Taoist landmark dedicated to the Great Immortal Wong. Known for its colorful architecture and fortune-telling traditions, the temple is one of Hong Kong’s most visited spiritual sites.
