Arrival in Munich and transfer from the airport to your hotel in Munich where you are staying 4 nights in hotel Bayrischer Hof. Our guide will meet you again after you have checked in the hotel to take you on an extensive city tour of Munich where he will show you all the sights of the Bavarian capital like the Residence, the Opera, the Maximilian- & Leopoldstreet, the Marienplatz with the City Hall. You will also visit the castle of Nymphenburg. In the late afternoon you will have time to enjoy the Christmas Markets of Munich. In the morning we are leaving Munich to go north to the city of Nuremberg, where on a city tour we will present you the Reichsparteitagsgelände before you have time on your own to visit the world´s largest and most famous Christmas Markets of the world. On the way home we will make a short stop at the city of Regensburg as well for another opportunity to have a mulled wine and some local Xmas specialties and souvenirs. After breakfast we are taking the German Alpine Road to the Wies church on of the most beautiful rococo churches in Germany. On we go to Hohenschwangau where we will visit Neuschwanstein Castle built by King Ludwig II. Afterwards we will be heading back into the magnificent scenery of the small Alpine villages like Oberammergau with the picturesque private houses & gardens. Another Christmas atmosphere will welcome you at the Oberammergau Christmas market before returning back to Munich. Dinner in local restaurant & overnight in hotel Bayrischer Hof in Munich.
After breakfast we will be heading for another highlight of this tour – Rothenburg o.d. Tauber – the medieval jewel of Germany. The Christmas market is surely very special as well but considering this unique scenery you may not find another equivalent anywhere else. But let’s not forget to visit the Käthe Kruse shops where you can buy handmade Christmas decoration all year around. On the way back to Munich we will have a short stop at the city of Augsburg, where our guide will give an impression of the town that in former times was dominated by the Fugger family. In the evening you will enjoy your farewell dinner at the Ratskeller, a typical regional restaurant located in the basement of the Munich City Hall.
