Settle in, relax, and prepare for the remarkable safari journey ahead.

After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe Airport for your midmorning flight to Kasese Airstrip. Upon landing, meet your expert safari guide and begin the scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, shimmering crater lakes, and pastoral landscapes along the way.

Arrive at your luxury lodge near the park, check in, and enjoy a light lunch before your afternoon adventure.

Private Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
In the afternoon, embark on a private cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, the natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Cruising in comfort, you’ll experience one of East Africa’s richest concentrations of wildlife.

From your boat, enjoy exceptional sightings of:

Hippos in large pods
Crocodiles basking on the banks
Elephants and buffaloes gathering to drink
A vibrant array of birds including African fish eagles, kingfishers, marabou storks, and pelicans
This tranquil cruise offers superb close-up photography opportunities and a serene perspective of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s aquatic ecosystems.

Return to your lodge in the early evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the wilderness.

Transfer this morning to Kyambura Gorge, often referred to as the “Valley of Apes.” This dramatic forested canyon—cut deep into the surrounding savannah—is one of Uganda’s most unique primate habitats.

Morning – Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge
Meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers for a briefing on trekking etiquette and safety before beginning your descent into the gorge.
Your trek takes you through dense, tropical forest as you search for one of the region’s small, habituated chimpanzee communities.

Along the way, enjoy sightings of:

Black-and-white colobus monkeys
Red-tailed monkeys
Olive baboons
A diverse array of forest birds
Once the chimps are located, spend up to 1 hour observing their natural behavior—feeding, grooming, calling, and interacting within the forest canopy.
Trek duration varies from 1.5 to 4 hours, depending on the chimps’ movements and terrain conditions.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest before your afternoon activity.

Afternoon – Exclusive Predator Tracking Experience
In the afternoon, embark on a rare and immersive conservation activity: Predator Tracking on the Kasenyi Plains, conducted in partnership with the Uganda Carnivore Program.

This behind-the-scenes experience includes:

Tracking lions and leopards using professional radio telemetry equipment
Joining researchers and rangers as they monitor collared carnivores in real time
Learning about big cat behavior, territory, ecology, and conservation challenges
Gaining exceptional opportunities for close (but safe) wildlife sightings
This deeply educational and exciting adventure offers privileged access to the park’s most elusive predators and meaningful insight into Uganda’s carnivore conservation efforts.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Start your day with an early morning game drive in either the Kasenyi Plains or the Mweya Peninsula, two of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s most wildlife-rich areas. The soft golden light of dawn offers the perfect conditions for photography and heightened wildlife activity.

Keep an eye out for:

Lions patrolling the plains
Elephants moving through the savannah
Elegant Uganda kobs
Buffaloes, warthogs, and other grazers
A rich diversity of birds, including raptors and savannah specialists
After an exciting morning in the bush, return to your lodge for a late breakfast or early lunch.

Transfer to the Ishasha Sector
After your meal, check out and begin the scenic journey south toward the renowned Ishasha Sector, famous for its iconic tree-climbing lions and remote wilderness feel.

Upon arrival, check in at your luxury Ishasha lodge and enjoy a short rest, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of this untouched corner of the park.

Private Sundowner Experience
In the late afternoon, head out for an exclusive private sundowner inside the park. Your guide will set up at a stunning viewpoint—either overlooking the open savannah or a quiet riverbed.

Sip on chilled drinks and enjoy light snacks as the sun dips below the horizon, casting warm golden hues across the landscape.
Listen to the sounds of the bush, feel the cooling evening breeze, and savor one of the most magical moments of any African safari.

Return to the lodge for dinner and a serene overnight stay.

Wake up early and depart for a morning game drive in the Ishasha Sector, a region celebrated for its rare tree-climbing lions and expansive open savannahs. With the soft morning light stretching across the plains, this is one of the best times to observe wildlife at its most active.

Look out for:

The famous tree-climbing lions
Large herds of buffaloes
Elephants roaming the grasslands
Topis, waterbucks, and other antelopes
A variety of savannah birds

Bush Breakfast Experience
Midway through your game drive, stop for a beautifully arranged bush breakfast at a scenic location. Enjoy freshly prepared dishes, hot coffee, and the tranquil sounds of the wild—an unforgettable and serene safari tradition.

Transfer to Bwindi – Buhoma Sector
After your morning adventure, begin your journey toward Buhoma, located in the northern region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Travel through:

Rolling terraced hills
Traditional Ugandan villages
Dense tropical forests and lush greenery
Arrive at your luxury lodge in Buhoma, check in, and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Relax on your veranda, enjoy a massage, or simply take in the mystical views of the Bwindi Forest as you prepare for your upcoming gorilla trekking experience.

Transfer this morning to the Bwindi Park Headquarters for a comprehensive briefing led by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will learn essential gorilla tracking etiquette, safety guidelines, and insights into gorilla behavior before embarking on one of the most profound wildlife experiences in the world.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Gorilla Trekking Adventure
Enter the dense, mist-covered rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, guided by expert trackers. The trek can last 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement and location of the gorilla family you are allocated.

With the support of professional guides—and optional porters—you will navigate:

Steep, forested slopes
Thick jungle vegetation
Moist, atmospheric pathways cloaked in mist
The journey itself is part of the adventure and offers glimpses of Bwindi’s extraordinary biodiversity.

One Magical Hour with Mountain Gorillas
Upon locating the gorilla family, you will spend one unforgettable hour in their presence.
Watch as these gentle giants:

Feed and forage
Interact playfully
Groom one another
Tend to infants
Move through the forest with quiet, powerful grace
Encounters are often just a few meters away, creating a deeply emotional and transformative wildlife moment.

Afternoon at Leisure
After the trek, return to your lodge for a relaxed afternoon. Choose to:

Enjoy a rejuvenating massage
Unwind with a drink on your private veranda
Take in sweeping views of the Bwindi Forest canopy
Simply rest and reflect on the unforgettable experience

Today you will enjoy another extraordinary encounter with the mountain gorillas—this time trekking to visit a different gorilla family within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
This second trek allows for a deeper understanding of gorilla behavior, social dynamics, and habitat diversity, as each family displays its own unique characteristics and routines.

Guided once again by expert trackers, you’ll navigate the forest’s misty slopes and dense vegetation in search of your assigned gorilla group. Upon finding them, spend another unforgettable hour observing:

Playful juveniles swinging and tumbling through the undergrowth
Mothers caring for their infants
Silverbacks maintaining order and protecting the group
Subtle family interactions, grooming, and vocal communication
A second trek offers a richer, more immersive gorilla experience—and many travelers describe it as even more rewarding than the first.

After your trek, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the serene rainforest ambiance as you celebrate your final evening in Bwindi.

After breakfast, transfer to the nearby airstrip for your morning scheduled domestic flight back to Entebbe. Enjoy a final glimpse of Uganda’s rolling hills and forest landscapes as you fly north toward the capital.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, connect to your international departure flight back home.

Your remarkable 8-day luxury safari—filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, breathtaking landscapes, and meaningful cultural experiences—comes to an end.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Pearl of Africa. Safe travels!
