Itineraries Of The Day

Reception at Calama Airport (CJC), followed by a scenic transfer across the Atacama Desert to the charming town of San Pedro de Atacama, the cultural and adventure hub of northern Chile.

Enjoy a free day to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the world’s driest desert, stroll through San Pedro’s adobe streets, and connect with the local Atacameño culture and traditions.

Overnight stay in San Pedro de Atacama.

Today’s excursion is dedicated to exploring the natural wonders of the Atacama Desert. The journey begins by crossing the region’s largest plain toward the Great Atacama Salt Flat (Salar de Atacama), an immense white expanse of rugged salt crust. Here, shallow lagoons shimmer under the desert sun and provide a sanctuary for vibrant colonies of Andean, Chilean, and James’s flamingos, which choose these waters for nesting.

The adventure continues with visits to the Altiplanic Lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques, located at over 4,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes and breathtaking high-altitude scenery. On the way back, a stop will be made in the picturesque village of Toconao, known for its colonial-style bell tower, artisan handicrafts, and orchards that bloom against the desert backdrop.

Overnight stay in San Pedro de Atacama.

In the afternoon, one of the most unforgettable experiences awaits: sunset in the Atacama Desert. The best place to admire this magical moment is the Cordillera de la Sal (Salt Mountain Range), while exploring the otherworldly Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna).

Here, visitors will encounter dramatic salt and clay formations, sculpted by geological folding and erosion processes that began hundreds of millions of years ago. These whimsical, sculptural ridges and small mountains create a surreal panorama that, as the sun descends, transform into a glowing landscape resembling the surface of the moon.

Overnight stay in San Pedro de Atacama.

After breakfast, transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to Calama Airport (CJC) for your return flight. Take with you unforgettable memories of the Atacama Desert’s unique landscapes, high-altitude lagoons, and starlit skies.
