From Fouriesburg, guests are collected by guide for an unforgettable journey into the highlands of Lesotho. The drive takes you through dramatic mountain landscapes as you make your way to the vibrant town of Butha-Buthe, where you’ll explore a local craft market filled with handmade treasures and cultural curiosities.
The next stop is the Liphofung Caves, home to fascinating Bushman rock art and rich cultural history, offering a glimpse into Lesotho’s ancient past. Lunch is enjoyed along the route, surrounded by the stunning vistas of the Maloti Mountains.
The afternoon is spent in the serene Oxbow area, where rolling hills and mountain air offer a peaceful pause. Your day ends with a warm welcome at Oxbow Lodge, where dinner, bed and breakfast are included in your stay.
After a hearty breakfast, we depart Oxbow Lodge and begin our scenic journey across the Pass of Guns, winding our way through Lesotho’s dramatic highlands. Along the route, we pass the Kao Mine, a striking feature in the mountainous landscape.
Our next stop is at a trout farm in Motobong, where guests can learn about local aquaculture in this unique high-altitude setting. We then continue to Lejone, where lunch is enjoyed overlooking peaceful valleys and rugged terrain.
In the afternoon, the drive continues along the edge of the breathtaking Katse Dam, with its deep blue waters set against towering cliffs. We arrive at Katse Lodge in time to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

After an early breakfast, we depart Katse Dam and journey deeper into the heart of Lesotho, traversing some of its most remote and awe-inspiring landscapes. Our route takes us through the rugged mountain town of Thaba-Tseka, before continuing to Mokhotlong—once dubbed the most remote outpost of the British Empire—where we’ll enjoy a late lunch.
From Mokhotlong, the adventure continues through the stunning Sehonghong Valley, winding over the dramatic curves of Black Mountain Pass, one of Lesotho’s highest drivable points.
By late afternoon, we arrive at the legendary Sani Mountain Lodge, home to the highest pub in Africa, perched on the edge of the world-famous Sani Pass. Here, a warm meal and cozy accommodation await.
