Itineraries Of The Day

Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our local representatives. They’ll guide you through the arrival process and assist you with your luggage, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transfer to your hotel.

As you drive through the bustling capital, take in the first glimpses of Madagascar’s charm—rolling hills dotted with colorful houses, roadside markets brimming with fresh produce, and the scent of spices lingering in the warm air.

Once checked in, the rest of the day is yours to unwind. Perhaps sip a cool drink on a terrace overlooking the city’s terracotta rooftops, stretch your legs with a stroll through the nearby streets, or simply sink into the comfort of your room and let the gentle rhythms of Antananarivo lull you into relaxation.

Overnight at Hôtel Palissandre or Maison Galliéni.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Ivato Airport for your domestic flight with Madagascar Airlines/Tsaradia to Antsiranana in the far north of the island.

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport to begin a city tour of Antsiranana (Diego Suarez). You’ll start with a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning vistas of one of the world’s largest natural bays and the iconic Nosy Lonjo (Sugar Loaf), a sacred islet rising from the sea. The tour continues along Rue Colbert, where colonial architecture meets modern Malagasy life, and ends at the central market, alive with local colors, spices, and crafts.

From the coast, you’ll journey inland to Joffreville, a peaceful town on the edge of Amber Mountain National Park, known for its lush forest and cool mountain air.

Dinner and overnight at Nature Lodge, a serene retreat surrounded by nature.

After breakfast, set out for an unforgettable visit to Montagne d’Ambre National Park, a lush volcanic massif known for its dense rainforest and cool climate. As you explore its network of trails, keep an eye out for lemurs leaping through the canopy, colorful chameleons blending into the foliage, and a wide array of birdlife.

After the visit, begin the scenic drive toward Ankarana National Park, with a fascinating stop en route at the Red Tsingy—a stunning, otherworldly landscape of eroded sandstone pinnacles glowing in shades of red and orange.

Continue onward to Ankarana, where rugged terrain and rich biodiversity await.

Dinner and overnight at Ankarana Lodge.

Today is a full day to immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Ankarana National Park, one of Madagascar’s geological and ecological gems. Known for its jagged tsingy formations, underground rivers, and dramatic caves, the park offers a truly unique hiking experience.

Accompanied by your guide, you’ll trek through this surreal limestone landscape, crossing suspended bridges and weaving through canyons carved over millennia. Along the way, keep your eyes open for crowned lemurs, leaf-tailed geckos, and a variety of bird species. The park is also rich in plant life, with dry forest vegetation that thrives among the rocks.

You’ll stop at scenic viewpoints and natural landmarks, learning about the region’s cultural significance and its fragile ecosystem. After a day of adventure and discovery, return to your lodge to relax and reflect.

Dinner and overnight at Ankarana Lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll begin the scenic drive back to Antsiranana, passing through rolling hills and coastal landscapes as you make your way north.

Upon arrival, set out on an afternoon excursion to the famous Three Bays—a trio of breathtaking coves that showcase the raw beauty of Madagascar’s northern coast. Start at Sakalava Bay, a favorite for kite surfers and beach lovers alike, with its turquoise waters and wide, sandy shoreline. Continue to the more secluded Pigeon Bay, where calm waters and rocky outcrops create a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a quiet walk or a moment of reflection. Finally, explore Dunes Bay, where soft sand dunes meet the sea, offering stunning panoramic views and the perfect spot for a refreshing swim or sunbathing session.

Take your time to enjoy the tranquility and natural charm of each bay before heading back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Dinner and overnight at Hôtel Allamanda, set along the waterfront with views over the bay and a relaxing ambiance to end the day.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Antsiranana Airport for your return flight to Antananarivo, bringing your northern adventure to a close.
