Upon arrival at the airport, the English-Speaking Meet & Greet assistant will be waiting in the arrivals hall and take you to your Private Coach for the transfer to the hotel.
The evening will allow for a stroll at leisure of what Edinburgh has to offer, before the full day tour on Day 2.
Morning:
Begin the day with a guided walking and driving tour of Edinburgh, starting at the Royal Mile, the heart of the city’s Old Town. Your guide will walk you through its cobbled streets, pointing out historical sites, unique shops, and lively pubs that capture the city’s charm.
Visit St. Giles’ Cathedral, a landmark of Gothic architecture with stunning stained glass windows and a rich connection to Scotland’s history.
Next, enter Edinburgh Castle, perched high on Castle Rock. Explore Scotland’s Crown Jewels, the Stone of Destiny, and the castle’s historic Great Hall. Take in panoramic views of the city and learn about the castle’s role in shaping Scotland’s past.
Afternoon:
After exploring the castle, head to the Grassmarket, a vibrant and historic area filled with local charm. Then, continue to Victoria Street, one of Edinburgh’s most picturesque streets, and admire its colourful facades and boutique shops.
Next, visit Calton Hill, an iconic hill known for its monuments and spectacular views of Edinburgh’s skyline, the Firth of Forth, and the surrounding countryside. Learn about its history and its significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Following Calton Hill, proceed to Princes Street Gardens, a beautifully landscaped park at the base of Castle Rock. Enjoy views of the Scott Monument, dedicated to Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotland’s greatest literary figures.
Evening:
Return to your hotel to relax or spend free time exploring Edinburgh on your own.
Morning and Afternoon:
A private coach will take the group on a full-day excursion to the world-famous Loch Ness, located in the Scottish Highlands.
Upon arrival, you will take a cruise that will navigate the waters of Loch Ness, it is the second largest lake in the country with its 30 kilometers in length. Loch Ness is situated between Inverness (the capital of the Highlands in the north) and Fort Augustus (in the south).
The group will also visit the historic Urquhart Castle. This ruined medieval castle built on the edge of the lake offers magnificent viewpoints. Explore the castle ruins and learn about its fascinating history, dating back to the 13th century.
Evening:
You will be spending your last night in Inverness, with free time to explore or savour a Scottish meal in Inverness, the “Capital of the Highlands”.
